FreeFashionInternships.com was launched in March 2007 using online resources to open the world of fashion to anyone who has a desire to work in the industry and is now the premiere resource for fashion internships with listings ranging from couture to action sports, design to public relations. FashionJobs.co was launched in April 2017.

The site has been featured in The New York Times, Forbes, Fashionista, Bustle, WhoWhatWear, and more as a top industry resource.

Founder

Carla Isabel Carstens is the founder of FreeFashionInternships.com and FashionJobs.co. Her interest in fashion jobs stemmed from her participation in job programs while she attended the University of California, San Diego. She interned at companies such as Escada, JANE Magazine, Gucci, Volcom, and RVCA.

Born and raised in Southern California, Carla currently resides in Brooklyn, NY. Following a decade-long career in fashion public relations and influencer marketing, working with brands such as Sotheby's Diamonds, De Beers Diamond Jewellers, Chopard, Faberge, Jennifer Fisher, Naeem Khan, Jonathan Simkhai, and more, she now focuses full-time on her various entrepreneurial endeavors. She has a Master's in Strategic Communications from Columbia University and a Master's in Management from Harvard University.
