Parlor Showroom
Parlor Showroom Fall Internship
New York, NY
Here’s an opportunity to learn how the fashion industry works from the inside out. Parlor Showroom in NYC’s Soho neighborhood is a multi-line showroom working with designers such as Alex & Eli, Whit, Rachel Anotnoff, Nicholas K, St. Augustine’s Academy and Samantha Pleet, among others.
Parlor wants interns who are obsessive about fashion and devour it daily. Knowledge of fashion publications, style and fashion blogs, and stores is a necessity. Are you passionate, confident, and responsible? Do you have familiarity with NYC neighborhoods and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite? If you can answer “yes” to each of these questions without thinking twice, then you might be the perfect candidate.
You’ll be doing basic office work, sample trafficking, and showroom preparation. Best of all, you’ll have the opportunity to speak to editors, designers, stylists, and retailers daily. This is an unpaid internship, but you’ll get school credit. And the contacts you make will be invaluable.
The showroom needs sales and PR interns who can commit to a minimum of three days per week for at least three months. Preference will be given to those who can commit to five days per week.
Interested? Please send a resume and cover letter to Jessica@parlorshowroom.com. You need to include a list of your favorite fashion magazines–explaining why you love them–as well as your favorite fashion blogs (ahem!) and why you’re addicted. Tell them a little bit about yourself, your aspirations, and what you see yourself doing in the fashion industry once you graduate. Bonne chance!
